Founded in 1965, Institution Food House, Inc. ("IFH") is one
of the 13
largest food distributors in the country. We are the
largest, independently owned, broadline foodservice
distributor that
is home-based in the Carolinas. Our parent
company, Alex Lee, Inc., is a uniquely
diversified food company
comprised of
IFH, Merchants Distributors, Inc.
(wholesale grocery
distributor), and Lowe's Food Stores, Inc.
(grocery retailer with over
100 stores). IFH has a distribution center in Hickory, NC
and also in Florence, SC.
